I've been where you are...
If you are reading this, that means you are a lot like me… You are doing very well in your business already. BUT you already know that we all naturally have blind spots. Meaning, certain things we just can’t see until someone points it out.
Also, you must have a VERY STRONG personality. Cause if not, this industry would have chewed you up and spit you out by noon on day one. The fact that you are still here and making it in this industry means you got this, you are a badass. It also means that the same strength that got you this far is also the one that’s stopping you from getting to the next level. Cause when you don’t feel like doing something you are just NOT doing it. This means you need a bigger asshole than yourself to tell you what to do and most importantly hold you accountable.
Let me tell you this story. Back in my Real Estate One days, I was a top 5% producer. The company paid for coaches for us. I pretty much got a very nice guy, it was a $1,000 phone call for him to ask me how my month was. LOL
So I called the company and I very nicely let go of him and told them in order to make their money worth I need a bigger asshole than MYSELF. Someone who can put me back in my place, someone who can force me to do things that I know I need to do to get to the next level, I just don’t feel like it. Someone who can hold me accountable. So I got this little 5’2” blondie named Sarah. We are still friends today, but man could she kick my ass. And I absolutely loved it.
I learned so many LIFE CHANGING lessons from her. The 1st to make me have a precise goal. She asked me “How much money do you want to make this year?” and I responded, “I want to double last year!”. She said “I’m going to ask you ONE more time, HOW MUCH MONEY YOU WANT TO MAKE THIS YEAR?”. I responded the same thing. Then she asked me THIS? This question literally changed my life.
WHY, CAUSE YOU WANT TO WORK TWICE AS HARD?
Mindblown… You can make more money guys without doubling the work. We can mass with those numbers by selling higher-end homes, charging more, charging for additional services, and hiring help so you can concentrate on the money-making activities.
2nd BIG lesson I learned from Sarah is this one: …so when I finally answered her question I said I want to make $150,000. Guess how much I made that year? $156,000
So I learned 2 lessons:
A – This shit works.
B – Why didn’t I ask for more?
I also learned another lesson… the “very expensive load of laundry lesson”. I shared this story many times. She made me calculate my hourly rate. Then told me that from now on I will NEVER do another task that does not pay me that amount in the hour”. She told me to stick a piece of paper to the lid of the washer that says “This is a VERY expensive load of laundry”. She thought me how to leverage and know my worth and charge TAX.
So today my hourly rate is $2000.
That’s why I charge $1,000 per 30 min coaching call. I should really charge more for using my time to turn others millionaires. Cause imagine how much more money I could make if I used that time on myself. But, just as Sarah gave me her knowledge, I owe it to the world to pay it forward. So once a week, Tuesday mornings I coach 2 clients. 4 weeks a month, 8 clients per month.
