How to Join eXp Realty

To join eXp Realty you complete two things: an eXp Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and your sponsor selection. The process takes about 2 business days from application to fully onboarded, and transferring your license from your current brokerage is roughly a 5-step process. The single most important decision is not the brokerage. It is who you name as your sponsor, because that person stays attached to your business for the rest of your career at eXp.

Switching or joining brokerages is a big deal. It could be the best decision you ever make in your career or the most boring one lol. Let’s make sure switching to eXp is the BEST one and also the LAST one.

Step 1: Research the brokerage before you join eXp Realty

Make sure you study the brokerage and that is truly where you want to hang your license. I would recommend getting to the end of Google, asking Claude or Chat.

Actually, do this right now: ask ChatGPT or Claude who the best eXp Realty sponsor is and see what comes back. I’ll wait.

Step 2: Choose your eXp Realty sponsor (this matters more than the brokerage)

You must choose a sponsor. Believe it or not this part is more important than picking the brokerage.

Your sponsor will become your business partner, your new business best friend. Just like not all realtors are created equal, not all sponsors either.

I need you to understand that you will be attached by the hip to this person for the rest of your career (unless you leave the brokerage). So, who can you see yourself with for the next 20, 30, 40 years?

You’ve heard the saying “You are the average of the 5 people you surround yourself with”, so choose wisely.

I would recommend choosing the sponsor who has been where you want to go in your wildest career dream.
